Fibre material (9, 11) is fed to a pair of centrifugal spindles (6, 7) from separate delivery points (4, 5) of a drawing frame (1). After each centrifugal spindle (6, 7) is filled with partially twisted thread material, the supply of fibre material (9, 11) is interrupted until the start of the next delivery phase and the material is transferred to a spooling arrangement (8) and is given a final twist. During the course of the working process, fibre material is simultaneously fed to both centrifugal spindles. Between the spooling phase and the delivery phase for each centrifugal spindle, there is a preparatory phase during the course of which the centrifugal spindles are alternatively cleaned and/or prepared for the next delivery phase. <IMAGE>
