PURPOSE:To produce the swirl optimum for the operational conditions of an engine constantly and automatically assuring low fuel consumption and producing less waste gas by a method wherein a tongue of suction port swirling part producing swirl is formed of a shape memorizing metal and the tongue is controlled by a thermostat corresponding to revolution and load of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A tongue 3 of a swirling part 2 of a suction port 1 is formed of a shape memorizing metal changing its shape corresponding to the change of temperature. Any signals from the revolution and load detector of an engine are transmitted to a computer to control the values of a resistor buried in the tongue 3 as well as the temperature of the tongue 3 corresponding to revolution and load of the engine so that the projection of the tongue 3 may be changed to produce the optimum swirl ratio for revolution and load of the engine. |
