Chest and sitting-position supporting device on bicycles

By altering and supplementing (assembly kit) commercially available bicycles, or when a bicycle is rebuilt with the chest and sitting-position supporting device, a new sitting position for the cyclist can be achieved in which the chest is horizontal, this sitting position being ergonomically favourable and low-lying in terms of mass centre. By virtue of the sitting position in which the chest is horizontal, a stabilising unit between the person and bicycle is achieved with the chest and sitting-position supporting device. The sitting position in which the chest is horizontal is achieved: 1. by the chest and sitting-position supporting device which slides to and fro in the direction of travel, if desired even during the journey; 2. by the height-adjustable chest shell; 3. by the inclinable chest shell matching the upper part of the cyclist's body in the direction of travel; 4. by the inclinable seat surface (saddle, shell, bench) matching the backside of the cyclist in the direction of travel. The chest and sitting-position supporting device makes possible a quicker start, a higher speed and more effective braking while, at the same time, reducing the risk of injury in an accident.
