Decorative film (I) comprise a paper carrier with a wt. of 80-120 g/m2, coated with a melamine-formaldehyde resin. (I) is then coated with 30-80 g/m2 of a resin (II) made from an elastic mixt. polymer (A), which is grafted with a hardenable mixt. polymerisate (B). (A) is made by mixt. polymerisation of (a) 78-99 wt.% of an acrylic acid (1-8C alkyl) ester; (b) 1-20 wt.% of a hydroxy (2-4C alkyl) ester and/or a (meth)acrylic acid amide and (c) 0-2 wt.% of a crosslinked monomer with at least 2 reactive non-conjugated double bonds. (B) is made by mixt. polymerisation of (a) 60-80 wt.% styrol and/or a meth-acrylic acid (1-20C alkyl) ester (b) 1-20 wt.% of an N-methoxymethylamide of (meth)acrylic acid (C) 1-20 wt.% of an acrylic acid (1-8C alkyl) ester (d) 1-20 wt.% of a hydroxy (2-4C alkyl) ester of (meth)acrylic acid (e) 1-20 wt.% (meth)acrylic acid amide and opt. (f) 0-20 wt.% acrylonitrile. (II) contains 20-60 wt.% of a mixt. of a hydroxyfunctional polyacrylate (III) with an OH equiv. wt. of 200-600 and a polyisocyanate (IV) with an isocyanate equiv. wt. of 150-230, and/or a polyacrylate-urethane obtd. by reacting (equal amts. of) (III) and (IV). USE/ADVANTAGE - Improved flexibility and weatherability. (I) is used as a decorative covering for wood.
