A bale of peat with a bale body made of dried peat firmly shaped for transport and storage purposes, such as conventionally is typically supplied in a peat bag and, after opening the peat bag, has been remoistened by spraying with water, undergoes a simplification and acceleration of its handling, which is important in particular for the horticulture business, by at least one watering duct which is formed into the bale body, leads from outside into an internal region of the bale body and makes it possible to moisten the bale through from the inside - even in the case of extensively closed wrapping.
