<p>PURPOSE:To provide a single power aiding means for both front and rear wheels to reduce cost in the heading steering gear by connecting the power aiding means to the connecting system of the front and rear wheel steering mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:A steering gear capable of steering simultaneously front and rear wheels 16, 21 steers left and right front wheels 16 through a rack rod 14 and a tie rod 15 of a front wheel steering mechanism A with a pinion 13 rotated by the rotation of a steering wheel 10. At the same time the movement of the rack rod 14 moves left and right a rack rod 19 of a rear wheel steering mechanism B through a pinoin 24, an operating shaft 23 and a pinion 25 to steer left and right rear wheels 21 similarly. Then fourth pinion 26 provided on the operating shaft 23 engages a rack rod 27 moved by a power cylinder 28, a power aiding means. The power aiding means 28 introduces oil pressurized by an oil pump 35 for operation through a controlling valve 31 interlocked with the steering wheel 10.</p> |
