PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of the blurring of characters or the like and to enhance the visibility of the contents of display on the surface of a package, by a method wherein display regions formed by splitting the surface of the package in a plurality in the longitudinal and lateral directions are provided, and an identifying mark is formed on each of the display regions. SOLUTION: In a semiconductor device 11, the surface of a package 12 is split into four in the longitudinal and lateral directions and four rectangular display regions Ta, Tb, Tc and Td are constituted. A trade mark is imprinted in characters on the region Ta, geometrical designs to show the names of products are respectively imprinted on the regions Tb and Tc, and a geometrical design to show a number of lot is imprinted on the region Td. An identifying mark to show a year of production constituting a lot number of production is imprinted on a lot number region to be displayed with the lot number of production, and an identifying mark to show the year of production imprinted on the lot number region. Moreover, an identifying mark to show a base or a section is imprinted on a lot number region, and an identifying mark for showing the number of production is imprinted on a lot number region.
