Desks in which inward displacement in a line from the side to the centre of the desk of the surfaces or portions of those surfaces enclosing the storage volume of a side storage unit give expanded access to said units. The working surface (1) is displaced to the right pulling open the inner side panel (2) of the left hand storage unit which expands open a filing system (6) and by simple linkage (7) partially raises it above the level of the working surface. In wide storage units the top layer of stored material may be displaced inwards towards the centre of the desk in a drawer permitting access to material stored below said drawer. |
