A sealing strip for the periphery of a motor vehicle body door comprises a extruded tubular part 12 with a base 18 and lips 14 and 16 and having a relatively rigid metal insert 20 embedded within it to define a shoulder 22. The sealing strip is forced onto the door periphery, from the inside, so as to "stretch" the metal insert 20 until the shoulder 22 engages a channel 24 formed in the door periphery. The resultant interlocking action holds the sealing strip in position.
