NEW MATERIAL:An interleukin-1beta(IL-1beta) derivative having a modified amino acid sequence corresponding to the amino acid sequence of IL-1beta of formula (<X> and <Y> are alpha-amino acid residues constituting human body) or its derivative wherein at least one of the 145th Asp and 146th Phe is deleted or substituted with other amino acid residue. USE:An antagonistic and inhibiting agent for IL-1beta and remedy for chronic inflammatory diseases. PREPARATION:The objective modified IL-1beta derivative is produced e.g. by preparing a gene coding IL-1beta or its precursor by conventional process, cutting the gene by restriction enzyme treatment, bonding the amino acids in such a manner as to code a polypeptide having modified amino acid sequence, bonding to an expression vector, introducing into a host such as E.coli and culturing the transformant. |
