PURPOSE:To enhance color-forming properties and raw stability by providing a thermal recording layer containing a diazo compound, a coupling component coupling with said compound to form a color, and a basic substance having a piperazine partial skeleton on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A coating liquid is prepared by solid dispersing a diazo compound, a coupling component coupling with said diazo compound to form a color, and a basic substance having a piperazine partial skeleton in a water-soluble polymer aqueous solution by a sand mill or the like. This coating liquid is applied on a substrate, such as paper and plastic films, and dried to form a thermal recording layer, whereby a thermal recording material is produced. As the aforesaid basic substance, 1,4-bis(benzyl)piperazine is concretely mentioned. In addition, the diazo compound, the coupling component, and the basic substance are preferably compounded each in the water-soluble polymer aqueous solution in the amount of 5 - 40wt.%. |
