PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance and stability with age by forming a reflecting layer of a thin film consisting of an alloy of aluminum and tantalum. CONSTITUTION:A magneto-optical recording layer 5 constituted by laminating the thin films of a 1st protective dielectric layer 1, a recording layer 2, a 2nd protective dielectric layer 3, and the reflecting layer 4 consisting of the alloy of the Al and Ta is provided on a substrate 6. A protective org. layer 7 is provided to cover the side faces of the magneto-optical recording layer 5 on the front surface of the reflecting layer 4 consisting of the alloy of the Al and Ta of the extreme layer in order to protect the entire part of the magneto- optical recording layer 5. The alloy of the Al and Ta of the reflecting layer itself has the excellent corrosion resistance and is hardly affected by the oxygen and moisture intruding from the outside. The possibility that the characteristics are deteriorated by the reflectivity degraded with age is lessened. The corrosion resistance is improved in this way and the recording medium having the excellent stability with age is obtd. |
