PURPOSE:To obtain an arterialization inhibitor which is useful in prevention and treatment for a variety of diseases accompanied by abnormal proliferation of arterialization by using dextran sulfate, beta-1,3-glucan sulfate or their salt. CONSTITUTION:Dextran sulfate, beta-1,3-glucan sulfate or their salt is admixed to usual additives for pharmaceutical preparations to give the subject inhibitor. Further, the addition of a steroidal or nonsteroidal substance such as fumagillin or its derivative or collagen synthesis inhibitor) intensifies the arterialization inhibition. The compound can be formulated into tablets, capsules, syrup, powder, injection solution, cream for local application, eye drops or the like. The dose is 10 to 900mg/day of dextran sulfate. It is useful in diabetic retinopathy, trachoma, rheumatoid arthritis or the like. |
