PURPOSE:To provide the title formulation Comprising hexamethylenediamine and an N-(N'-alkyloyl or alkenoyl-N'-alkyl-aminoalkyl)-N,N-dialkyl-N- hydroxyalkyl ammonium. CONSTITUTION:The objective formulation with its active ingredient consisting of a composition comprising (A) hexamethylenediamine and (B) a compound of the formula (R1 is 1-4C alkyl; R2 is 2-4C alkyl; R3 is 7-23C alkyl or alkenoyl). Continuous or intermittent injection of 0.01-20ppm, based on seawater flow, of this composition over 1 to 7 days for 1-24hr/day into the seawater in water pipelines, conduits or a plant will inhibit adherence of a variety of marine organisms, and at the same time, the metallic surfaces of their inner walls are coated with film consisting of the above composition, thus preventing their corrosion. No need for operational stop for marine structure will yield great temporal, economical advantages. |
