<p>NEW MATERIAL:The pyrimidines of formula I [A is group of formula II or formula III; R1 is group of formula IV (R<3> is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or phenyl; R<4> is H, lower alkyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, 4-halogenophenyl, p-diphenyl, 2-pyridyl or 2-thiophenyl provided that R<3> and R<4> are not H at the same time), 9-fluorenyl or triphenylmethyl; R<2> is lower alkyl; n is 0 or 1] or their salts. EXAMPLE:2-(4-diphenylmethylpiperazino)-5,6-dihydro-7-methyl-6oxo(7H)py rrolo[2,3- d]pyrimidine. USE:Useful as an agent for remedying neuropathy of peripheral and central nervous systems. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced e.g. by hydrolyzing a reaction product of the compound of formula V and N-formylpiperazine and subjecting the resultant compound of formula VI to reducing elimination of the protecting group.</p> |
