PURPOSE:To improve human body constraining by providing the weakest section near the center of a cover for containing an air back and by making it possible to cleave the cover from its center section in starting operation. CONSTITUTION:A cover for containing an air bag therein is provided with a center tear line 2 at the center from where cleavage is started in operating the air bag and with end section tear lines 3 and 4 at end sections. The tear lines 2, 3 and 4 are provided in continuous relation respectively and continuous groove sections 5 are also arranged in extension and recessed sections 6 are deeply formed at intervals. At the cover center section of the center tear line 2, the recessed sections 6 are densely formed. For this reason, when the expansion pressure of the air bag is applied to the cover, cleavage is started from the dense section of the recessed section 6 at the center section of a tear line 2, and other parts of the tear line 2, end section tear lines 3 and 4 are cleaved in order. Therefore, since cleavage is always started from the center of the cover, the human body constraining in a collision is improved. |
