PURPOSE:To ensure an effective assurance to an overflow and at the same time to increase the using efficiency of a picture memory, by storing again the picture information within a storage area that is extended and set by a corrected address. CONSTITUTION:A compressing circuit 4 gives the data compression to an input picture signal BS which is properly extracted out of an original picture. A memory controller 6 transmits and stores the picture information received the data compression from the circuit 4 to a prescribed address of a picture memory 5, and at the same time detects the information of a corresponding amount during an overflow. Both start and stop address control RAMs 7 and 8 give an address designation to the controller 6 for storage of the picture information. At the same time, the address contents in rewritten most preperly according to an indication given from the controller 6 and during an overflow. |
