PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a compressor, by minimizing the total length of a resonant spring by the use of a spring having nonuniform pitches. CONSTITUTION:When current obtained by subjecting AC current to half-wave rectification is passed to an electromagnetic coil 3 wound around a fixed iron core 4, a movable iron core 7 is attracted to the fixed iron core 4. However, the movable iron core 7 is pushed back by the resilient force accumulated in a resonant spring 11 interposed between the movable iron core 7 and a bearing 6. The movable iron core 7 is reciprocated through repetition of the above described process. Here, since the pitches A, B, C of the spring 11 satisfy the relationship A>B>C and the total length l of the spring is nearly equal to A+B+ C, the length l is smaller than the length L of a constant-pitch spring which is nearly equal to 3A. Thus, it is possible to reduce the size of a compressor. |
