PURPOSE:To prevent a faulty operation during printing by setting a routine processing mode, if all switches are turned OFF during the turning ON of a power supply and a test mode or an operating panel test mode, if the switches of a specific group are turned ON among the switches. CONSTITUTION:If all switches 24 to 29 on an operating panel 4 are turned OFF during the turning ON of a power supply, a printer operates in the routine processing mode. If the switches 24 to 26 on the operating panel are ON when a power supply is turned ON, the printer is set to the test mode. Thereafter, a motor, a solenoid, a high voltage power supply and other components in the printer are turned ON for action checking by turning the switches 24 to 29 on the operating panel 4. The above-mentioned test mode returns to the routine processing mode due to all the switches being cause to be in 'OFF' state. If the switches 27 to 29 on the operating panel are ON when the power supply is turned ON, only the operating panel is set to the test mode and is tested. That is, ROM, RAM and LED on the operating panel 4 are checked using all the switches 24-29. |
