CHANNEL ASSIGNMENT DEVICE FOR ELECTRONIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENT

PURPOSE:To select the channel of musical toner whose envelope is attenuated most and to perform channel assignment by reading characteristic information indicating different envelopes as to musical tone selection and sounding indication, performing arithmetic processing corresponding to a time elapse and comparing their arithmetic results and determining the channel to be assigned. CONSTITUTION:Data which is set in the assignment memory 801 of a toner generator 80 according to the scan results of a key switch memory and a panel display memory is transferred to an assignment buffer memory 802 to generate a musical tone signal corresponding to the data and the sound is outputted through a D-A controller 90 and a sound system 100. Further, an interrupt signal is supplied from a timer 40 composed of a programmable counter to a CPU 50 at constant intervals of time and subtraction arithmetic is performed as to envelope characteristic data in the assignment memory 801. Musical tone information regarding a new sounding indication is assigned to the channel of the smallest stage amount pieces of characteristic information of all channels.
