<p>PURPOSE:To prevent damage to a tape and to attain small size, light weight and small power of a drive motor by storing a reproducing signal obtained from a head at the selection of the operating mode, displaying a storage signal and making a tape tension slack. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 22 records a signal obtained from a head 8 into a picture memory 21 once by operating a long period still button of an operating means 20 while the signal recorded with a VTR main body 2 as the reproduction mode is being reproduced. The supply of the signal obtained from the head 8 onto a monitor TV 6 is stopped and the signal recorded in the picture memory 21 is outputted on the monitor TV 6. Then the carrying of a tape via a capstan is stopped to stop the drive the reel monitor to stop the carrying of the magnetic tape and to stop the drive of a rotary cylinder 14. Then the tape tension is controlled (5) so as to be made slack more than that at the standard reproduction. Thus, the damage of tape is prevented and small size, light weight and save power of the drive motor are attained.</p> |
