PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing member which is improved in releasability and cleanability while maintaining heat resistance, wear resistance and durability. SOLUTION: A release layer 4 of the fixing member 1 successively having an elastic layer 3 and the release layer 4 on a substrate 2 has a resin having imide bonds and fluororesin particles dispersed in this resin in its constitution components. The resin having the imide bonds is, for example, a polyimide resin, polyamide imide resin and polyether imide resin. The substrate is an endless belt composed of, for example, a metallic material and/or heat resistant resin and a roll composed of the metallic material and/or the heat resistant resin.
