PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide composite magnetic material which is excellent in insulating properties, workability when formed into a product, corrosion resistance, and high-frequency characteristics having a high withstand voltage, magnetic molding material using the same, compact magnetic powder molding material, magnetic paint, prepreg and magnetic board. SOLUTION: Metal particles 1 which are substantially spherical single crystals 0.1 to 10μm in average grain diameter are all or partially coated with an insulating layer 2, one or more kinds of the coated metal particles are dispersed into resin 10 for the formation of composite magnetic material. Metal particles having excellent permeability or high coercive force are used as the above metal particles. The coated metal particles are formed through a spray thermal decomposition method.
