<p>The cylindrical housing (1) has a bucket shaped base (2) with a sealed (6,7) cover (5). The air enters the housing through an 'elbow-shaped' port (8) which is connected to a vertical pierced tube (15). A measured volume of the air is drawn out via a hole (21) in the cylinder wall and fed to a calibrated volumetric sensor. The remainder of the exhaled air leaves the chamber via a tube (16) and port (9) which is similar to the input port.</p> |
