The invention relates to a stepladder formed by two individual ladders 1-2, 3-4 articulated together via their upper ends and it consists basically in the fact that one of these ladders rests on self-steerable wheels 9 whilst the other rests on non-slip buffers 11 and in that the deployed (in use) position of the assembly is defined by a pair of identical rigid stays 12, each one of which, via one end, is articulated 13 to one of the longitudinal members 1 of one of the ladders and via a point displaced towards the opposite end is articulated 16 to a slide 17 which can slide freely along one of the longitudinal members 3 of the other individual ladder, extending to the other side of this articulation and including an end grip 19. <IMAGE>
