摘要 PURPOSE: A method for processing a gear using air nozzle shot peening is provided to reduce costs by simplifying a process and reducing the number of workers, to improve the fatigue strength of a gear by concentrically forming compressive residual stress, to reduce the consumption of shot ball by obtaining shot peening effect in a short time, and to lengthen the life span of facilities. CONSTITUTION: A method for processing a gear using air nozzle shot peening is for improving the fatigue strength of a gear by forming compressive residual stress on the surface of the gear. Compressive residual stress is formed by projecting a shot ball with high-pressure air onto the surface of the gear. The projecting direction of shot ball is parallel to an involute line of an adjacent tooth and a linear line connecting a tooth type involute line as an object of peening on a contact point(B1) of an addendum circle with a contact point(B2) of a dedendum circle. The projecting angle of shot ball is 0-15 degrees to the involute line of the adjacent tooth and the linear line connecting the involute line of the tooth as the object of peening at the contact point of the addendum circle with the contact point of the dedendum circle.
