A roof structure for transparent roofs comprises supporting beams 11 which have solar panels 15, 36. The height of the beams is preferably half the distance between the beams. Two shutters 13, 14 made of heat insulating material 28 are located between each pair of beams, one on the lower edge of each beam. The shutters can be pivoted around the fixing line between the shutter and the beam between a horizontal position and vertical position. In the horizontal position, the shutters provide protection against heat loss and, in the vertical position, they allow all light to enter. In the intermediate position, incoming light is reflected towards the sides of the beams 15 for absorption of heat.
