The invention relates to a device for controlling the steering of a motor vehicle with two steering axles of the type including a rotary control member 12 coupled to a steering wheel 10 which transmits its movement to two control shafts 24, 26 respectively connected to two mechanisms 28, 34 for turning the wheels 30, 32 of the front axle and the wheels 36, 38 of the rear axle of the vehicle. According to the invention the rotary control member 12 is connected kinematically to the satellite gear carrier casing 18 of a differential 20 the two output shafts 24, 26 of which are rotationally connected respectively to the two control shafts, and one, 26, of the two output shafts, or the control shaft which is rotationally connected to it, is connected to rotational drive and immobilisation means 42 which are controlled as a function of a driving parameter of the vehicle. <IMAGE>
