PURPOSE:To contrive to reduce capacity of transformers for cycloconverter by a method wherein the secondary windings of the transformers provided for the plural number are provided by the number equal to the number of phases of load, and AC electric power of the converter is supplied from the secondary windings of the respective transformers. CONSTITUTION:When a load current IU of the U phase is made as a sinusoidal wave current having the peak value 3Id, load current IV, IW of the V phase, the W phase are the sinusoidal waves having the peak value 3Id and the phases thereof are shifted by 120 deg. mutually, and the secondary currents I12UU, I13UV, I14UW become to the envelopes having the peak value Id correspo nding to the load current IU, IV, IW of the U phase, the V phase and the W phase. Accordingly when the effective value of the secondary current of the transformer 1 is made as 1, the effective value of the primary current I1U of the transformer 1 becomes to 2.7, and when capacity of the secondary winding of the transformer 1 is made as 1, capacity of the primary winding becomes to 2.7, and capacity of the primary winding can be reduced as compared with the customary device. |
