PURPOSE:To prevent an image from being missing by setting in advance an unprintable area in accordance with the performance of a printer, and executing the recognition of an effective image except the unprintable area and the reduction by thinning out the image. CONSTITUTION:By setting in advance the dimensions of unprintable areas (a), (b), (c) and (d) to every print paper size from an operating part 3, a print area of the image concerned is determined from an image size and (a) - (d). This device is provided with a parameter for determining an effective image in accordance with how many black dots exist in a prescribed area, and by comparing a checked image and a parameter value by an image processor 12, the effective image is recognized. Also, an address value of its image is stored in a control memory 10, and in which position of the upper and the lower parts and the left and the right of the unprintable area its image exists is known, and by the comparison with the image size, a reduction ratio of the image is also determined. |
