PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a power supply line from an electronic equipment main body or an internal power supply circuit, to simplify the constitution of the subject converter and to reduce the cost by providing the converter with a rectifying circuit for rectifying a signal flowing into a signal line and supplying power supply to a photoelectric conversion circuit. CONSTITUTION:Signal lines ST, DL into which transmission digital electric signals are to allowed to flow are connected to the photoelectric conversion circuit 7 and the signals flowing into the signal lines ST, DL are rectified by the rectifying circuit 5 to supply power to the circuit 7. The circuit 7 has a light emitting element for converting the digital electric signals flowing into the signal lines ST, DL into optical signals and a driving circuit 3 for driving the element. Thereby, the digital signals transmitted to the signal liens ST, DL and other electric signals flowing into the signal lines ST, DL are rectified by the circuit 5 and supplied to the circuit 7 as driving power supply. Consequently, the power supply lines from the electronic equipment main body can be eliminated and the incorporation of a power supply circuit from an AC power supply or a power battery circuit on the photoelectric converter itself can be omitted and the simplification of the constitution and cost reduction can be attained. |
