PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail automatic transfer service method that can properly cope with the situation even when a mobile communication unit of a destination of electronic mail is in a state of being unable to receive the electronic mail. SOLUTION: In a step 101, a destination user possessing a mobile communication unit sets information in advance such as a transfer destination mail address list to a mail server in a system of an electronic mail destination. In a step 104, when the mobile communication unit of the destination cannot receive electronic mail for a long time, the situation is detected. In steps 107, 109, when the situation is detected in the step 104 that the mobile communication unit of the destination cannot receive electronic mail for a long time, electronic mail is automatically transferred to a device/unit of a transfer destination denoted by the transfer destination mail address on the basis of the transfer destination mail address list set in the step 101. In a step 108, handling of original electronic mail is controlled.
