PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when information recorded in a magnetic domain wall-movement type medium, which is designed ready for a red-color laser, is reproduced with the optical system of a blue-violet laser, it can not be reproduced, and the like. SOLUTION: When the recorded information is reproduced with the first reproducing optical system 5a wherein the wavelength of a light source isλ1 and the number of apertures of an objective lens is NA1, the reproduction of the recorded information is made by making use of a magnetic extremely high-resolving function or a magnetic domain wall-movement function. When the recorded information is reproduced with the second reproducing optical system 5b wherein the wavelength of the light source isλ2 and the number of the apertures of the objective lens is NA2, the recorded information is reproduced without using the magnetic extremely high-resolution function or the magnetic domain wall-movement function.
