A segmental connection between tubular members (A1, B1) including a first tubular member (A1) having a first external clamping configuration (12), a second tubular member (B1) having a second external clamping configuration (14), a plurality of segments (S1) having internal clamping configurations (16, 18) for mating with the first and second clamping configurations and fasteners (F1) for tightening the segments (S1) into clamping engagement with the external configurations of the tubular member (A1, B1) to secure them in end to end clamped engagement. One of the clamping configurations is tapered wedging shape.
