PURPOSE:To prevent a transverse slip of the tire and a road surface scraping by the spike pin by a method wherenin a protrusion having a pair of parallel front and rear side walls which intersect substantially at right angles with a rotation direction of wheels is provided at the head end of the spike pin which is shaped not to twist inside a tire rubber layer. CONSTITUTION:The protrusion 4 having a pair of parallel front and rear side walls 3 and 31 is provided substantially in the center of a top wall 21 of the head end 2 of the spike pin 1. The tail end 6 side of the spike pin 1 is embedded inside the tire rubber layer in such a manner tht the side walls 3 and 31 intersect with the tire rotation direction D substantially at right angles. By this, the spike pin 1 is prevented from twisting by an engagement of a flange 7 and a pair of righthand and lefthand small pieces 8 with the tire rubber layer. Thus, the spike pin 1 is secured fixedly to the tire rubber layer. This construction is very effective for increasing the braking effect and advancing force, thereby eliminating a transverse slip of the tire. Further, this construction is advantageous in a reduction of road surface scraping. |
