PURPOSE:To obtain cellulosic fiber improved in hand in a short time with rare deterioration in strength by adding a polyether-modified silicone to a cellulase- containing aqueous solution and treating the cellulosic fiber with the resultant aqueous solution. CONSTITUTION:A polyether-modified silicon preferably expressed by the formula (m, l and a are >=1; n and b are >=0; X is 2-8C alkyl having terminal amino, epoxy or carboxy; R is H or 1-4C alkyl), etc., is added to a cellulase-containing aqueous solution and cellulosic fiber is then treated and modified with the resultant aqueous solution. Furthermore, an aqueous solution containing 0.1-2.0wt.% cellulase is preferably prepared and the polyether-modified silicone is added thereto so as to provide 0.01-1.0wt.% content thereof. pH is then preferably regulated to 4-6 with an organic acid, such as acetic acid or oxalic acid, to afford the treating solution. The treating temperature is preferably 40-55 deg.C. |
