PURPOSE:To secure sufficient illumination in the near front of a vehicle with a projector type headlamp by making a light interrupting body in a plate shape with its lower surface made to be a reflecting surface and by irradiating the light ray reflected with the lower reflecting surface in the forward downward direction. CONSTITUTION:A light interrupting body 5 is disposed substantially horizontally. For the low beam, a light interrupting edge 26 interrupts part of light flux near the light concentration position 19 of an upper reflecting surface 13. Light rays incident on the upper surface 27 of the light interrupting body 5 are reflected and strike the upper half of a projector lens 6 and further projected together with light rays which entered the lower half of the lens 6 without being interrupted with the light interrupting body 5. Further, the lower surface 28 of the light interrupting body 5 is made a reflecting surface and the reflected light rays are irradiated to the downward forward direction extending horizontally to illuminate the area near right and left front of a vehicle. Thus, sufficient illumination is made in the near right and left front of the vehicle. |
