PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor which has a high dielectric strength and can have high energy density stably for a long period even when operated on a high voltage. SOLUTION: The electric double-layer capacitor which has an electrode composed principally of a carbon material and an electrolytic solution forming electric double layers on the interface with the electrode uses as the electrolytic solution obtained by dissolving an electrolyte of fluorine-containing imidazolium salt such as 1,3-dimethyl-2-fluoroimidazolium tetrafluoroborate in an organic solvent of propylene carbonate, sulforane, etc. |
