<p>An apparatus (10) for feeding and transferring discrete coupling elements (E) successively one at a time for attachment onto a stringer tape (T) comprises a feed unit (11) including a vertically disposed feed chute (13) and a transfer unit (12) including first and second slides (14, 15) both supported on a base (16) for horizontal movement effected by a cam means (25, 26). The thickness of the first slide (14) is substantially equal to the height of the leg portions (Eb) of the element (E). A pocket (21) is formed in the junction of the first and second slides (14, 15) for receiving an element (E) from the chute (13) and communicates with a slit (31) in the base (16) which provides a suction air for facilitating the fall by gravity of a leading element (E1) apart from an ensuing element (E2). The base (16) includes a transfer chute (28) for receiving one element (E) from the pocket (21) and transferring same onto the tape (T).</p> |
