Method and apparatus for the manufacture of a container 10 with good dimensional stability, filled with goods 60. A preform 10a of crystalliseable plastic material, which comprises a base part 11a and a mouth part 13 and is filled with the goods, is moulded by means of a mechanical moulding tool 20 to form the container. In the moulding of the base part, the mechanical moulding tool displaces the base part against the mouth part of the preform with simultaneous temperature conditioning of the base part material. The mechanical moulding tool bears against the base part for a length of time such that it acquires a degree of crystallinity of at least 15%. An apparatus according to the invention comprises a holder 50 in which the preform 10a is received and held during the moulding of its base part, and a mechanical moulding tool 20 with a bearing surface 22, to which members 26 impart an increased temperature. The apparatus forms part of equipment for filling the preform with goods, and the moulding tool is designed for the aforementioned displacement of the base part once the preform has been filled with the goods, and for holding the bearing surface in a limit position for the aforementioned displacement for a predefined length of time. <IMAGE> |
