Procedure for preparing an indane derivative.Includes: reducing a compound (II) where R<1> is -SO2R or H, Y is substituted or non-substituted phenylmercapto methylene, lower alkylmercapto methylene, hydroxymethylene, halomethylene or carbonyl, R is a phenyl, naphthyl or sulphur-containing heterocyclic group, R<2> is hydrogen or lower alkyl and R<3> is lower alkoxy, lower alkylcarbonyl or lower alkylcarboxy, to convert Y into a methylene group; and, when R<1>=H, condensing the resulting product with RSO3H (III), where R is as defined above, to produce compound (I), where the symbols have the aforementioned meanings.These compounds (I) can be used for their thromboxane A2 (TXA2) antagonistic action.
