PURPOSE:A heat-storing material that contains calcium chloride hexahydrate as a major component and ammonium nitrate, thus being suitable for use in a passive solar house heating system, because of its inexpensive and readily available raw materials, nontoxicity and noncombustible properties. CONSTITUTION:(A) Calcium chloride hexahydrate is used as a major component and mixed with (B) ammonium nitrate and/or calcium nitrate tetrahydrate, preferably at a molar ratio of 0.95/0.05-0.80/0.20 to give the objective heat-storing material, preferably melting at a temperature lower than 25 deg.C and freezing at a temperature higher than 15 deg.C. EFFECT:The melting point is controllable depending upon the amount of component B added. |
