PURPOSE:To obtain a non-mineral oil lubricant which has properties suitable for general use in a brake system, meets standard requirements, and is used particularly for the transfer unit and control unit of an automobile brake system by incorporating a specified thickening agent into a silicone base oil. CONSTITUTION:A silicone base oil is mixed with a thickening agent selected from an amine-treated bentonite, polytetrafluoroethylene, allylurea, and a chemically treated silica, thus giving a non-mineral oil lubricant used for the transfer unit and control unit of an automobile brake system. In particular, this lubricant has characteristics which pass the standard tests of the second kind of lubricant according to JIS K2228, although conventional lubricants for a brake, based on a silicone oil, have the problem of failing to pass said tests. |
