SUBLIMABLE THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING METHOD

PURPOSE:To prevent the rapid reduction of a transfer density even with the increase of the number of copies and to improve the shelf stability of a transfer sheet by a method wherein a sublimable thermal transfer recording medium is overlapped with an image receiving body provided with a layer containing a color-developer and heated from the side of the sublimable thermal transfer recording medium, whereby a sublimable compound is sublimated to be transferred onto the image receiving body and caused to react with the color developer to produce a color. CONSTITUTION:A sublimable thermal transfer recording medium obtained by laminating a sublimable compound supply layer 4 dispersing a sublimable compound in an organic binder and a sublimable compound transfer contributing layer 5 on a substrate 1 in this order from the side of the substrate is overlapped with an image receiving body 3 provided with a layer containing a color-developer. This is heated from the side of the sublimable thermal transfer recording medium by a thermal head 6, whereby the sublimable compound is sublimated to be transferred onto the image receiving body 3. The sublimable compound is caused to react with the color developer to produce a color, thereby forming an image on the image receiving body 3.
