PURPOSE:To make an engine compact in size by superposing connecting ends of respective branch pipes in each intake air collector part on each other in the vertical direction, and installing a clearance, where an igniter is inserted through, between these branch pipes. CONSTITUTION:In this device, there are provided branch pipes 22, 23 being connected to each of cylinder heads 2, 3 between symmetrical banks and two intake air collector parts 15, 16 collecting these branch pipes 22, 23 at each symmetrical bank. Connecting ends themselves of these branch pipes 22, 23 in each of the intake air collector parts 15, 16 are superposed on each other in the vertical direction, and a clearance 24, where an igniter is inserted through, is installed between both these branch pipes 22 and 23 adjacent in the cylinder bank direction. Thus, compactification for an engine is promoted, while such work as setting an ignition coil and a spark plug becomes facilitated.
