PURPOSE:To suppress variation in measured value due to fluctuations of fuel and to improve responsibility by calculating a moving average of sampled time-series detection data on the remaining amount of the fuel. CONSTITUTION:The frequency division output of the detection data on the remaining amount of the fuel based upon the electrostatic capacity of an electrode couple which varies with the remaining amount of the fuel is sampled by the mean period measurement part 281 of a signal processing part 28 controlled by a microcomputer to obtain a mean period signal corresponding to the remaining amount of the fuel. This signal is passed through a run judgement part 282 controlled by an ignition switch output and processed by an abnormal value removal part 283 and a moving average processing part 284 which forms a feedback loop during a vehicle run. Then, a remaining amount arithmetic part 285 calculates and determines the remaining amount of the fuel on the basis of the moving average value. Thus, the suppression of measured value variation accompanying fluctuations of the fuel and the improvement of the responsibility are attained by the moving average processing as compared with simple mean processing. |
