A fitting for coupling a woven or knitted cord to a moulded component comprises an over-moulded stud with one or more section profiles which provide divergent steps relative to the free end of the cord. The stud is an elastic push fit into a complementary socket with matching undercut step profiles. Esp. for securing carrying handles to carrier bags, where the sockets are integrated into moulded reinforcement strips along the top of a flexible film bag. Quicker and neater than use of manually tied knots to fix cords to bags having (reinforced) perforations large enough to accept the cord but small enough to retain a bulky knot therein.
