PURPOSE: To execute a least mean square(LMS) algorithm by selectively giving a data value and a coefficient value requested by both an updating part and a convolution part. CONSTITUTION: W(2,k) is multiplied by X(2,k) by a multiplier 64 for executing the product part of the convolution algorithm of an equation 1 in the first half of a time cycle (k). At the same time, the product of X(3,k) andβe(k-1) is formed by a multiplier 66. This is a part of the adaptive algorithm of an equation 2(update calculation). The previously formed product of W(2,k) and X(2,k) is added to a forced binary zero by an adder 72 in the second half of the time cycle (k). Successively, the accumulation of total for the successive tap is completed by adders 74 and 76, and the execution of the convolution algorithm of the equation 1 is completed.
