PURPOSE:To shorten time length required for recording or erasing information by forming a packing layer for covering and sealing an organic liquid or gelatinous dyestuff material arranged on a base plate together with the base plate. CONSTITUTION:The base plate 1 is provided with pits (groove-shaped pores) 4 each having constant length and arranged in a spiral track at constant interval, and each pit 4 is filled with the organic dyestuff material and then sealed in the pits 4 in a liquid state with a packing layer 3. These pits 4 are formed on the base plate 1 by the means same as the case of forming pits on a compact disk, thus permitting the dyestuff material 2 to cause chemical reaction at once upon irradiation with light and the time length required for recording or erasing information on the disk or medium to be remarkably shortened, and a rewritable optical to be obtained. |
