3'-Demethoxy epipodophyllotoxin glucoside derivs. of formula (I), having effective inhibitory action against mammalian tumors, are prepd.. In (I), R2= H; R1= C1-10 alkyl, C2-10 alkenyl, C3-7 cycloalkyl, furyl, thienyl, C6-10 aryl or C7-14 aralkyl with the aryl and aralkyl rings opt. substd. by at least 1 of halo, C1-4 alkyl, nitro, -OH or C1-4 alkoxy, or R1 and R2 are each C1-10 alkyl or together with the C atom to which they are attached form C5-6 cycloalky.
